Big City Park

Big City Park is a wonderful puppet show that airs on CBeebeies.  The abundance of puppetry airing in the UK makes me very happy.  I just wish my home country of Canada would follow suit. The series was shot outside in Ormeau Park, Belfast and was a co production between CBeebies Scotland and Sixteen South [...]

I don’t know about you people out there in Internet Land, but I just love Puppet Heap shorts. Love the style. Love the mood. Love the simplicity. Check out their latest series of shorts – I Knew an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly. Here’s the first episode, to get you started. Watch the rest [...]

Our very own Pasha Romanowski of Project Puppet, has just launched one of the most exciting new websites/companies since…well…ummmm…Project Puppet!  The new website is called Puppetsmith and it (in a nutshell) looks to offer tutorials to puppet builders on how to use some more advanced puppet building techniques.  Read the official overview here: The Purpose [...]

Space Knights

Space Knights is a show from New Zealand, that retells the tales of the Knights of the Round Table using puppets.  The puppets themselves were built by Chris Slane, political cartoonist for the NZListener, chief sculptor and puppeteer for TV series. Check out a sample of the show with these three videos.  Enjoy!

“Invisible Ink” by Brian McDonald

You may be asking why I’m talking about a book on writing on a puppet blog.  Well, think about this for a minute. Say you had the best looking puppets ever and an amazing group of puppeteers. Now you may think that would be an instant success. Well you would be wrong, because you would [...]

Furry Puppet/Go Daddy Campaign?

I love behind the scenes video.  Well, here is a gem!  The people over at Furry Puppet have just worked on a couple of puppets for some (possible) Go Daddy campaign.  The puppets are beautiful, but the mechanisms and the people working on these puppets are even more amazing to hear and see. I am [...]

The Little Prince

Hello Everyone, I saw that Kanja had posted a bunch of new stuff on the puppet buzz blog. So, I decided it was a great time to jump back in myself. I love good theater and good puppet theater even more.  Monkey Boys Production is currently showing their production of the Little Prince at the  Bristol [...]

Open Door Designs

If you live in the Greater Toronto Area (Ontario, CANADA) and have not been to Open Door Designs, you must make the trip.  ODD is quickly becoming the unofficial puppet hub of Toronto, and owner Joanne Bigham is delightfully warm and helpful “guide”. ODD offers puppets, puppet stages (which are definitely investments; but one I [...]

Pupperazzi

I always love it when nice puppets, good puppeteering and improv work convincingly together. I’m sure you can understand why I like this little video from the UK. There is something about a believable puppet character interacting with real people, that I really like. I hope you do as well.

Bobo and Kipi In The Congo

Here is a nice little video treat.  This is a trailer for a puppet pilot called Bobo and Kipi.  It is produced by a company in Democratic Republic of the Congo, however [...]
